Nowra Men’s Shed

Sponsored by Nowra Uniting Church and UnitingCare Ageing
“Share, help, learn, care and health through fellowship”

Nowra Men’s Shed is growing rapidly and now caters for approximately 50 (mostly retired) men on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. Using their practical skills, many worthwhile community projects have been completed, giving the men a renewed purpose in the use of their time.

Our address is 31 Millbank Road, Terara and we meet Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, from 9.00am to 1.00pm.

News and Views from the Nowra Men's Shed

A park bench tested by a human load as two members of the Men’s Shed share a place on it with the two lady members of Bunnings management. The principal of Terara school, proudly stands in front of the bench, prior to taking charge of it’s delivery..

Expertise of the members of Nowra Men’s shed is called on in many ways. One such occasion was to build a weather station, especially designed and made for Bomaderry High School.

This picture shows Peter Osterloh, the agriculture teacher at Bomaderry High School, taking possession of the Stevenson Screen (weather station) and thanking Don Parkinson and Alan Spearpoint for the work carried out on it by the Nowra Men’s Shed. The screen is on its stand ready to receive its instrumentation.
