Canasta
If
you would like have fun while playing cards; if you like to have a good chat;
if you have Wednesday mornings free, then this group is just for you!
Started 15th May 1985, the group caters for the serious card
shark and the rank amateur alike, with tables of “Bolivia” and “Hand and
Foot” (versions of Canasta) regularly in operation. Shirley Arthur
(organiser) says, that “they have the most fun of any group in the church”
and all who have experienced the friendly atmosphere, the jokes and the
laughs will support her view.
The group officially meets between 9.30am and 12 midday in the JW Henry
Room, although some very keen card players are known to arrive much
earlier. The group meets for cards every Wednesday (except if Christmas
falls on a Wednesday) and enjoy an interesting and stimulating experience
that will have you coming back for more!
